Sarah Palin Pregnancy Scandal

Posted on: August 31, 2008

The latest political/celebrity gossip is surrounding Senator John McCain’s running mate Sarah Palin. Rumor has it that when the latest Palin baby was born, it wasn’t Sarah that gave birth, but instead her 16 year old daughter Bristol.

Is this true? I don’t know.. what I do know is that there is a picture circulating that shows the family in 2006 (shown above). In this photo, Bristol has a belly bump. Does that make her pregnant? I don’t think so.

The other “evidence” is that Sarah told everyone she was pregnant at seven months… and she didn’t even look it. Everyone was surprised, even those working closely with her. So she didn’t “look” pregnant. I know a woman who when pregnant with her 6th child (in her 40s like Sarah), didn’t even know she was pregnant until she was 6 months along. She had experienced 5 other pregnancies… one whould think that she would “know” when she’s pregnant and would for sure look it. She didn’t know, and she didn’t look it. She carried the baby in her back. This happens.

Sarah’s water broke 1 month early, while on a speaking engagement in Texas, she then jumped on a plane and flew back the 8 hours to Alaska to give birth. Giving birth in Texas wasn’t happening for Sarah Palin. Why? Good question. Maybe she wanted her family there and knew enough from her previous 4 pregnancies that she had time to fly back. I don’t know. But no one on board noticed that Sarah was going into labor. The plane landed in Anchorage, Alaska. And instead of going to a hospital in Anchorage where they can accommodate a premature birth of a Downs baby, she drove 45 minutes away to Mat-Su Regional Medical Center, right outside the small village she was at one time Mayor, Wasilla.

Again, does this make it true that Sarah is indeed the grandmother of baby Trig? I don’t know. I know that when my water broke with my son, contractions didn’t start for about 20 hours when I was induced.

More “evidence”… Bristol Palin was apparently taken out of school for the last trimester of Sarah’s pregnancy. She allegedly had mononucleosis and it just wouldn’t go away. This usually lasts a few weeks to 3 months, but for Bristol, that bugger stuck around for 5 – 8 months.

Sarah Palin also was reported to have returned to work just 3 days after giving birth to baby Trig.

This is an interesting point, chances of having a child with Down’s Syndrome increases from under 1% to 3% after a mother reaches the age of 40. However, 80% of the cases of Down’s Syndrome are in mothers under the age of 35.

So, is there “overwhelming” evidence that Bristol Palin is the actual mother of baby Trig Palin? That Sarah Palin, Vice Presidential candidate for Senator John McCain actually lied about giving birth to her 5th child, and instead covered up the pregnancy of her 16 year old daughter? Only you can determine that for yourself.

For me personally – what does it matter? Have you never been in a situation where you made a judgment call on how to handle something, and maybe had second thoughts about it later? IF she lied, maybe that’s what happened. Are people that run for office, executive or not, not human? Do we hold them to higher standards than we hold ourself? Why is that? We’re all the same. We’re all people. We all do what we feel is best when the situation arises. There is no right and wrong. We do what we do for the reason we do it. Again, IF Sarah Palin lied about being pregnant to protect her daughter, she did it for a reason. And we must trust that her decision was the best decision for her family at the time, just as we must trust our own decisions when we make them.

Politicians are flawed human beings like the rest of us. If it is revealed that Bristol is Trig’s biological mother, Gov. Palin will lose credibility for her lack of honesty alone. This is not the subject of a single white lie, but a massive cover up and identity obstruction that could have severe emotional consequences for both Bristol and Trig. As an elected public official Gov. Palin would have earned my respect by acknowledging the irony that she proposes “abstinence only” sex education and that abstinence was hard to achieve under her own roof. The most valuable lessons come from our darkest trials – but only if we are open to them. If this scandal is true, Gov. Palin chose to manipulate reality in order to maintain her ego, rather than embracing the opportunity to grow as a soul.

If Sarah Palin lied about being pregnant to protect her daughter, she did it for a reason. And we must trust that her decision was the best decision for her family at the time, just as we must trust our own decisions when we make them.

Actually, no.

Sarah Palin in an elected official, in the public eye, and governing (about) three-quarters of a million people. And she is a political animal with a nearly indefensibly rigorous stance against choice of reproductive rights. To lie to the people of Alaska, and now America, about her health and physical status, is a grave act of deception and conspiracy involving many people.

But if she didn’t lie, she had a responsibility to her unborn child, whom she endangered and now exploits for political gain.

Either way, it’s morally repugnant, and she should be crucified.

You wrote, “There is no right and wrong.”

But I’m sure the evangelical Christians – the folks McCain was courting when he chose Sarah Palin – will vociferously disagree with that statement. They are all about right and wrong, all the time. No questions, no shades of gray, take no prisoners.

If this story makes the MSM it will be interesting to see how the Christian right handles it.

Me, I hate to see kids get drawn into politics. But sadly, the McCain campaign started this by touting the five kids and special needs baby. IF the facts stated in this post are true, then somebody’s got some ‘splainin’ to do. And has shown very poor judgment indeed to get this far into a VP campaign without having addressed the issue.

It is a big deal in my opinion. If she is the mother, she showed incredibly bad judgement being in Texas so late n pregnancy, and then taking a very long airplane trip home, putting herself and her baby at risk. Furthermore, I dont think any airline would allow a woman in such late stages of pregnancy on an plane.

And no one noticed she was in labor? That simply defies belief!

And if her daughter is the actual mother, then it’s a big deal because she lied about it. And if she lied and covered up this, what else would she lie and cover up?

Either way she looks very bad!

This also calls McCain’s judgement into question. Did they do no investigation whatsoever before he chose her? Doesnt make him look good either!

And I say all this as a person who does NOT want Obama to be elected. I was so happy on Friday when I heard McCain’s choice, to say I find this very disturbing now is putting it mildly.

[…] l’ll leave it up to you if the above rumor has any merit. I know I’ve heard that Barack Obama is a Muslim and that he was born outside the country. I bet his political opponents have helped spread those rumors. Yet these things are not true. Not all rumors are true. […]

HYPOCRISY MATTERS! This is a private family matter. However, when you are a finger waving “family values” abstinence only pushing politician telling other families how to live, your family better walk the walk. When your rigid and unrealistic stances fail your own family, at the very least, you should be big enough to re-evaluate your position and deal with reality. While loving your family unconditionally is ideal, a teen pregnancy should not be a source of pride.

I’m a working mother of four & grandmother of four. I can tell you that NO ONE who cares about the life of an unborn child would fly 8 hours & drive 45 minutes after her water broke, especially if premature & identified as a Downs baby. NO ONE! I was with three nurse friends when my water broke with my first child & I was rushed out the door immediately. With my last, my water began to leak at work & the doctor made me rush to the hospital to avoid infection–I was induced within an hour. And my daughter had a troubled pregnancy with twins & was rushed to the hospital when her water leaked 1 month early–twins were born premies & immediately placed in intensive care. Something is rotten here & I hope the National Enquirer gets to the bottom of it. Palin’s views & inexperience are an insult to truly qualified women candidates, but if she turns out to be a liar too McCain should be run out of town on a rail.

okay, so i guess that when bill clinton lied about monica it was okay, since he had an innocent daughter to protect as well, right?

I just have one thing to add:
If my infant child had Down’s Syndrome and my teenage daughter was pregnant, I WOULD NOT BE HEADED TO WASHINGTON let alone spedning the next 2 months campaigning for VPOTUS. Any thoughts?

Why this can’t be proven one way or other ?

Hospital records.. Air line tickets.. family and friends observation etc..

further gene testing

Where exactly was she travelling to for that period of time..when her water broke???
Based on MY KNOWLEDGE..one must deliver within 6hrs of their waters breaking..otherwise the unborn child is at risk of developing sepsis..
so..where was she travelling to???
w

Fact? while Bristol Palin was in the midst of debilitating mono – she had sex & got pregnant??? who was supervising & caring for the very ill Bristol Palin?

This is about lying to cover up a scandal. What else Sarah Palin lied about? What will she lie about in the future? Is this what we want in our leaders?

Sarah better keep it a rumor…a lie is a lie.

this is a lie that will bring all her ambitions to an end. If she had an iota of wisdom, she would have waited for the next election, when all the scandal was behind her, and when her children were old enough not to need her as they need her now. Where are the family values? Where is her woman’s wisdom—–she has none, and therefore, she has no place in Washington, except as a tourist.

I read your posts for a long time and must tell that your posts are always valuable to readers.
